Gatwick is around 50 miles from our Basildon base, roughly 55 minutes when the roads are clear, though the M25 and the Dartford Crossing can push it past 90 minutes at peak. The way in is the A127 onto the M25, clockwise over the Dartford Crossing, then the M23 down to Gatwick at Junction 9, and if you are nearer the A13, that joins the M25 a little further on at Junction 30, which works just as well. Your driver knows it, and the fixed fare does not change whatever the traffic does.

For more than a quick trip, usually. A week in Gatwick's Long Stay car park works out at around £230 if you just turn up and pay on the day (£38 the first day, then £32 a day after). Since January 2026 Gatwick charges a minimum of £10 to pull onto a terminal drop-off zone, covering up to 10 minutes, then £1 a minute after that up to a £30 daily cap and a 30-minute limit. That charge is set by Gatwick, not by us. If you would rather not pay it, Gatwick lets you use the Long Stay car parks free for up to two hours with a free shuttle to the terminals. With a booked car you are dropped right at the terminal, and there is nothing for you to pay at the airport.
